General Questions
- Suitably primed new and previously painted stable galvanised, tile and clay roofs.
- Not suitable for over coating bitumen based products.
All surfaces must be clean, sound and dry.
• To ease application, sand previously painted stable
surfaces.
• Previously painted sound surfaces can be washed with
sugar soap and rinse thoroughly with clean water.
• Remove all loose flakes and:
Tile and clay roofs – apply one to two coats BondAll
(Acrylic) until loose particles are thoroughly bonded.
Galvanized roofs – apply a single coat HydroEtch.
• Apply a single coat Universal UnderCoat on previously
painted stable alkyd systems to improve adhesion.
Pitch of Roof – Add % to spreading rate: Depending on pitch, add 20 – 40 %
Type of Roof – Add % to spreading rate: Corrugated & IBR – 20 – 25%
Smooth or granular cement tiles – 25 – 30%
Spreading Rate Calculations:
Granular cement tiles = 2 – 4m²/1ℓ/coat
Cement / Fibre cement tiles = 2 – 4m²/1ℓ/coat
Galvanised iron = 5m²/1ℓ/coat
Sealant for tiled roofs: BondAll need to be applied to stabilise surface from all loose particles
